Making the bed sounds simple until the bed belongs to Merv. In a hilarious Instagram video from @mervthepet, a cat named Merv simply would not let his owner make the bed, refusing to move while his mom tries to tidy up.
The whole thing turns into a family negotiation. While his mom tugs at the sheets, Merv’s dad acts as a referee, trying to convince Merv to back off — only for the feline to answer back as if the house belongs to him.

In the video, as his mom starts folding and tucking the bed, she asks the cat, “Merv, let me make the bed.” His dad backs her up with, “Let mama make the bed.”
Merv seems to have different plans, as he responds by charging toward his mom and making a dramatic noise that the family translates as “Bagagwa.” His dad immediately warns him, “Mervyn, do not summon bagagwa,” and his mom repeats, “Don’t summon bagagwa.”
Then the cat’s dad warns him, “Merv, you’re gonna get the jiggles.” His mom follows through, giving Merv a playful shake on top of the comforter while chanting the jiggles, to which his dad laughs and responds with, “There we go.”
Even now, Merv refuses to step aside. When his dad calls, “Merv,” the cat turns and makes a noise that sounds like he is repeating his name right back. His dad, chuckling, zooms in on the feline and says, “Merv, that’s not ham,” as Merv seems to nibble at the sheets — and the kitty replies with an unmistakable “Ugh.”
Finally, his dad asks, “You gonna keep hurting mama?” In response, Merv finally hops off the bed, making a sound the family captions like a final word that reads, “I’m nevah doinG that again.”
In the end, his mom probably got to make the bed peacefully — well, sort of. Still, the video proved that the cat always gets the last word, even if it is about doing something as simple as making the bed.
