Some pets race toward their owners the second they hear their names. Penny, however, seems to prefer keeping her human guessing. The orange feline recently starred in a hilarious cat video that showed her playing an unexpected game of hide-and-seek with her owner.
Orange cat expertly hides as mom looks for her
The clip, shared by the Instagram account @pennythegingercat, captured Penny sitting quietly in a corner while her owner delivered an over-the-top plea for her return. The result had viewers laughing at both Penny’s suspicious expression and the increasingly desperate narration.
The video opens with Penny tucked beside a large wooden piece of furniture near a window. At first glance, she looks calm and composed, but her alert eyes suggest she knows exactly what’s happening.
Her owner calls out dramatically, asking where Penny has disappeared to and insisting that she urgently needs her favorite orange companion. “Mom misses your soft fuzzy orange body,” the owner says, before jokingly warning Penny not to make her come searching.
She jokingly refers to the cat as her “daily hit of ginger dopamine,” describing Penny as the bright spot that helps her get through long workdays. The owner continues the humorous monologue, insisting she can sense Penny’s “adorable energy” somewhere nearby and begging the cat to come out.
