Would you like to take your dog out to dog parks in Miami? There are so many options in this dog friendly city, but we have narrowed it down to seven of our favorite off leash dog parks. From splashing around the lake at Perrine Wayside Water Dog Park to running along the beach at Haulover Beach Dog Park. Miami’s dog parks have something to offer every dog. Before listing the parks, let’s go over tips on dog heat safety and comfort levels.

Keeping your dog comfortable with Miami’s heat

When taking your dog out to the park, we recommend bringing along a collapsible water bowl. If you have the option, we recommend remote starting your car or starting it up for a while to give the air conditioning more time to cool the car. You could also get a noggle, which helps direct the cool air to the backseats for your dog.

During the summer months, you should take your dog out when it’s cooler in the early morning or evenings. You can monitor your dog for heatstroke by looking out for the following symptoms:

    • Lethargy or being disoriented
    • Vomiting
    • Difficulty breathing or heavy panting
    • Excessive drooling
    • Bright tongue and red gums

Now that we have covered some heat safety tips, let’s discuss how to monitor your dog’s comfort level.

    Monitor your dog’s comfort level

You should always watch your dog’s body language for signs of stress or fear when out. These body language signs include:

    • Stiff body posture
    • Ears pointed back and lowered
    • Tucked in tail
    • Arched back

If your dog is showing signs of fear or stress, you should take your dog out of the park. After all, we want every experience at the dog park to be a positive one.

Now that we have covered tips on heat safety and body language observations. Let’s discuss some of Miami’s best dog parks.
