    When they asked about the dog down the street, they were told his owners had moved away and left him behind — even after he’d been hit by a car. In that moment, the only thing that mattered was getting him to safety. His recovery is long, and he’ll live with lasting injuries, but he’s adapted beautifully to spoiled house-dog life. Somehow, he’s never received an adoption application — even though everyone knows he’ll be someone’s soul dog.
