One rescue cat has come up with a unique way to make sure his owner gets out of bed. A funny video shared by Instagram account @babayaga_cat shows a determined black cat named Baba Yaga taking his self-appointed morning job very seriously. The cat doesn’t seem to care about alarm clocks or wake-up schedules. Instead, he follows a timetable that appears to be entirely his own.

The clip quickly struck a chord with pet owners who know all too well that cats rarely care what the clock says when they’ve decided it’s time for breakfast, attention, or simply company. The video opens with Baba Yaga sitting alertly on the bed while his owner remains tucked under the covers. Text on the screen reads: “My alarm clock:”
The cat stares intently at his sleeping human, clearly confused about why she hasn’t gotten up yet. While the owner appears content to continue resting, Baba Yaga looks ready to begin his morning routine. According to the caption, this isn’t a one-time occurrence. “Is my alarm clock broken??” the creator joked. “…because I swear I keep setting it for 7:00, but it keeps going off at 6… at 4… and sometimes even 3:00 a.m.”
